Current:

O’Leary Recreational Department is looking for any students looking for volunteer hours this summer that would be interested in coaching minor soccer in O’Leary. It would be a practice and a game per week. If anyone is interested please contact the O’Leary Rec Department.

Students looking for seasonal government work can pick up applications up in guidance.

PEI Trucking Sector Council is offering student positions. Please see guidance for more information.

Encounters Canada is recruiting grade 10 & 11 students. There is a discount available right now, please see guidance for more information.

Yearbooks are on sale in the library during both lunches only. They are $50 each and will be sold on a first come first served basis. Get yours now as quantities are limited.

UPEI has a unique opportunity available for current grade 10 and 11 female students who are interested in Engineering. For more information on this interesting opportunity, please see Guidance.

St. Mary’s University will be hosting their Summer Writing Workshop on August 15^th and 16^th. Students do not have to be attending St. Mary’s University to participate. Please register at www.smu.ca/academics/summer-writing-workshop.html or call 902-491-6202 for more information.

Grade 12 information:

The Father Ellsworth scholarship ($500) is available to students from Palmer Road parish. Application forms can be picked up F. J. Shea & Sons (Frankie’s) in St. Louis.

If you or your family are members of the O’Leary Co-op please sign up in guidance for the O’Leary Farmers Co-op bursary.

Remember to check with your local legions for their bursary award. Deadlines are approaching.

Saint Dunstan’s University Bursary deadline is August 31^st. Criteria can be found at www.saintdunstansuniversity.ca under the scholarships and bursaries link.

 Programs/other:    

Westisle Buskers will be every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the gym from 8:30 till 8:53. Lots of activities to learn and excel in. They include juggling, unicycling, ripstiking, extreme pogo, diablo, and balance skills. Everyone is welcome.

Westisle’s Armover Club will be every Tuesday and Thursday, first lunch in room 515, start time 11:45. Come out and see what this club is all about. Lots of fun.
